A career at Janssen

Joerg works in Chemical Informatics and Molecular Modelling: he is involved in the earliest stages of the development of medicines. He identifies diseases and the purposes for which small molecules can be developed. For him, the development process is only over when the patient is cured.

After completing his A2 Diploma in Electricity, Bart went to work as an Operator on the Janssen campus in Geel. He works in a highly technical environment where innovative medicines are produced. When the working day is done, Bart often heads out with his workmates.

As an IT Technology Manager, Gert analyses new telecommunications products and looks at whether they can be put to use at Janssen. Furthermore, he has played a leading role in the People Engagement programme, by developing guidelines for more efficient meetings. Gert is often in contact with co-workers in America; by making appointments, they make the most of the time difference and turn potential timing problems to their advantage.

Just like a lot of her colleagues at Janssen, Kathleen did not have a medical background, but was able to gain the necessary knowledge through internal training and education. As the Project Manager for Hepatitis C, she follows up on different therapies and treatments, including the coaching of patients. She follows up on projects related to a specific disease, from A to Z.

Two years ago, Marisa took her first steps on the Janssen campus during a traineeship. Meanwhile, she has worked as a Process Equipment Engineer for the internal Competence Group, developed preventative actions and followed a course to become a Safety Engineer. At the moment, she is closely involved in the purchase of new mixing tanks.

As a Finance Controller, Mireille analyses the results of various daughter companies worldwide and provides the Johnson & Johnson headquarters in the USA with reports. For this, she works with a team of ten colleagues, who report to her. Flexible hours allow her to keep her work and family life in balance.
